Playa la Tijera

Although somewhat remote, the best and perhaps most suitable beach for snorkeling around Puerto Angel is the Playa la Tijera.
After a distance of 9.7 km (6 miles) you will arrive at the village of Colorado. Towards the end of the village turn off to your right onto a stoned pathway and drive a further 1.3 km (0.80 miles) until you get to the village of El Vigía. Here again keep to your right and drive a further 8.2 km (5.1 miles) through almost untouched nature until you arrive at Playa la Tijera. A car park lies a short distance away from the beach.
It is recommended to have a suitable vehicle for rough dirt roads, (e.g.: up from a VW beetle) even though the track is repaired annually following the rainy season.
It is also advisable to take enough refreshments with you as there is no possibility what-so-ever between El Vigía and the beach which is completely uninhabited.

But however, the easiest way to get to this beautiful beach is to participate in a tour by boat. Boats leave from Playa del Panteón (Puerto Angel) every morning many of them taking Playa la Tijera into their route.
The beach though small and offering little shade is situated in a beautiful natural surrounding not to mention the fascinating world waiting to be discovered under the surface !
